Production Description

Casting "From Suspect To Prospect," a inspirational stage play based on the autobiography of Adrian Collins that will be filmed. Project description: After two months of his release from jail, Adrian Collins (aka A-G), a well-known gangster from Plainfield, NJ, gets shot 5 times from behind and then sentenced to five years back in prison. When he goes to East Jersey State Prison lock-up, A-G receives seven letters and gets a reality check while reading the first letter sent from his old head named Goldy, the leader of their street gang currently serving a 27-year sentence in the same prison. Once Goldy tells him a long-time enemy wrote a book based on their old war stories, A-G takes a trip down memory lane which causes him to reflect on his life and what he’s been through. After a spiritual awakening and reality sets in, A-G then becomes inspired to write life story From Suspect To Prospect, however, that one book turns into 3 books in four months.

Father (Supporting): Male, 50-60

a simple, hardworking man who works at General Motors and raises his sons to work hard and take care of their family. Stern but friendly, street smart. Writes Adrian a letter in prison after moving to Delaware.

important but shorter role that appears in the first and third act and deals with bringing Adrian to the jail cell in the beginning of the play, and releases Adrian at the end of the play. No lines. Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearses evenings (4-5 p.m.) and/or days at Plainfield Public Library; previews will be Jan. 7th -January 8th. March 1st; performs March 2nd - 5th (5 performances total) in Atlanta, GA. Audition notices and calls will begin January 3rd.
